Spa Insider: A Spa Oasis in the Middle of Midtown Manhattan

The Spa: Oasis Day Spa

The Location: In a bustling corner of Park Avenue South, the Oasis Day Spa is just that, providing a welcome escape in the downstairs level of a stunning Art Deco office building.

The Scoop: Spas in Manhattan run to two extremes. You have the posh destinations where a massage can cost anywhere from $200 to $500. Then you have the less expensive walk-in massage parlors and nail-salons where you can score an hour-long massage for around $70, but there is zero ambiance, and no space to congregate in for groups. There’s not a lot in between, but Oasis fills the gap beautifully offering an amazing spa experience at reasonable prices. A massage here will cost you around $120.

The Vibe: Oasis is friendly and laid back (no attitudes here). The recently revamped spa features a cozy, waiting room painted slate gray with built-in leather sofas that’s ideal for lounging between treatments with friends.

Must try: Oasis offers an incredibly wide range of spa treatments. Looking for a massage? Choose from 10 varieties including lava stone and aromatherapy. Need some wellness? Try a life coach session or acupuncture. Need to clear your head? Sit in the Breathe Easy Salt Therapy room to inhale natural salt to help open sinuses and heal coughs. Need some beauty remedies? Try IPL for hair removal, spider veins, and sun damage.

Insider tip: With 19 treatment rooms, Oasis Park Avenue is the perfect spot for a group (think bridal party, mom’s day out, or girls night out). The variety of spa treatments works well for everyone from a teenager (the teen facial tackles hormonal skin) to your grandmother (a microcurrent facial lifts skin).
