Southwest's Spring Sale Has Flights Starting at $49 — but You'll Have to Book Soon

The sale ends Thursday, Feb. 22.

With spring break quickly approaching, Southwest is rolling out deals for last-minute travelers.

The airline's "Spring Travel Sale" has discount fares as low as $49 to cities like Austin, Boston, Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, Nashville, and New York, 

The sale runs through Thursday, Feb. 22 at 11:59pm PST, for travel between March 5 and May 29. Passengers must also book tickets three weeks in advance of their departure, and the sale is subject to availability 

Travel + Leisure spotted top one-way fare deals including:

  • Atlanta, GA (ATL) to Nashville, TN (BNA) for $49

  • Austin, TX (AUS) to Orlando, FL (MCO) for $99

  • Boston, MA (BOS) to Raleigh/Durham, NC (RDU) for $98

  • Denver, CO (DEN) to Oklahoma City, OK (OKC) for $49

  • Las Vegas, NV (LAS) to Sacramento, CA (SMF) for $49

  • Tampa, FL (TPA) to Atlanta, GA (ATL) for $49

For travelers visiting the Hawaiian islands this spring, Southwest is also discounting nonstop flights between the islands. For example, passengers can book tickets from Honolulu (Oahu), HI to either Hilo, Maui, or Kauai for only $50 one-way. Without the promotion, those flights can range from $65-$120 based on data from Southwest’s fare calendar. 

Many destinations that T+L have ranked as top spring break destinations are markets with Southwest’s Spring Travel Sale. For example, travelers can visit Florida's Emerald Coast and Destin, Florida by flying into the Destin/Fort Walton Beach, FL airport on Southwest. 

Southwest Airlines recently revealed that 137.2 million passengers flew the airline in 2023, which was a 8.4 percent increase from 2022.
