Southwest's Spring Break Sale Is On — With Flights Starting at Just $69

Southwest Airlines wants to help travelers save on their spring break flights with its latest fare deal.

The sale, which must be booked by Thursday, February 8, at 11:59 p.m. PT, is valid for travel dates between February 27 and May 22. Travelers can book these discounted tickets for as low as $69 one-way directly through Southwest’s website or app.

A 21-day advance purchase is required to get the cheapest fare. While the travel dates run through the spring, a few dates and destinations are blacked out for the sale:

  • Continental U.S. travel to international, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii is only valid Sundays through Wednesdays. Blackout dates include March 7 to March 31

  • Continental U.S. travel from international, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii is only valid Tuesdays through Fridays. Blackout dates include February 27 and March 14 to April 7

  • Interisland Hawaii travel is only valid Mondays through Thursdays

  • Travel to and from Orange County (SNA) is excluded

The discounted fares — which apply to the airline's entire network — are only available for its Wanna Get Away tickets, which can be canceled for a future Southwest credit but not for a full refund.

The sale comes as Southwest has launched its latest promotion for travelers to earn Companion Pass faster, which can unlock buy one, get one travel across the airline’s route network for the cost of just $5.60 in taxes and fees.

Until March 11, anyone who signs up for a new Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card can earn a Companion Pass (valid through Feb. 28, 2025) and 30,000 Rapid Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.

These Southwest cards also award up to 3x bonus points on Southwest purchases, including airfare, upgraded boardings, and inflight Wi-Fi purchases. Credit card holders can double dip on this promotion by earning points by purchasing discounted flights and receiving even more points after flying with Southwest.
