Southwest is helping travelers get a jumpstart on 2024 trip planning with its latest vacation sale.

Southwest Vacations, a division of Southwest Airlines, recently announced a semi-annual sale with discounts as much as $200 off vacation packages purchased directly with the company.

The promotion offers discounts at popular destinations and hotels such as Las Vegas' MGM Resorts, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts' Inclusive Collection, and more.

The package include round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for one bundled price. Members of Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program also earn bonus miles for purchase at select properties. Travelers can view the available options on Southwest Vacation's website.

Travelers can score a $100 discount for vacations within most of the United States when using promo code "USVACATION100," and $200 off international & Hawaii vacations with promo code "INTVACATION200."

The promotion is valid on travel through Oct. 2 that is booked before Feb. 5 at 6:00 p.m. PST.

For a comparison of the savings, Travel + Leisure analyzed both the retail rate of separate airfare and hotel, as well as the vacation package price. For travelers who book using Southwest Vacations, a 3-night stay at the Bellagio in Las Vegas with airfare from St. Louis, the total would be $1,162.71. For travelers who book each separately, the total would have been $1,393.96. In this case, the Southwest Vacation package saves travelers $231.25.

Travel + Leisure spotted other deals that include airfare and hotel including:

  • Sheraton Princess Kaiulani (Hawaii) - $837 per person

  • Hyatt Regency Long Beach (Long Beach, California) - $690 per person

  • Universal Studios Orlando's Endless Summer Resort - Surfside Inn & Suites (Orlando, Florida) - $599 per person

  • Aulani, A Disney Resort And Spa (Hawaii) - $1,992 per person

Southwest Vacations is operated by a third-party travel booking service called ALG Vacations Corp, which facilitates the bookings in partnership with Southwest Airlines.

The promotion is published as Southwest Airlines recently reported a quarterly net loss of $419 million in their recent earnings report.

"I am very proud of our many accomplishments in 2023, but we have not yet delivered on our financial targets,” Southwest CEO Bob Jordan said in a news release about the earnings.

The CEO said the airline will “work urgently to restore” the company’s profit levels into 2024.
