Southwest Just Released Summer Flights and Expanded Routes Across the U.S.

Let the summer vacation planning begin.

Southwest Airlines is already looking to summer by releasing its flight schedule through mid-August.

"Already day dreaming of getaways in warmer weather?" the airline tweeted Thursday. "We've just extended our published flight schedules through August 14, 2023!"

The airline will also increase service to a long list of domestic destinations.

Starting July 11, Southwest will offer returning seasonal service daily between Nashville and Burbank, Calif., between Kansas City and Milwaukee, and between Kansas City and Minneapolis.

The airline will also expand weekend routes operated in June to daily summer service. These include between Denver and Albany, between Denver and Buffalo, between Denver and Hartford, Conn., between Nashville and San Jose, Calif., between Houston's Hobby Airport and Pittsburgh, between Hobby and Sacramento, between Las Vegas and Louisville, Ky., between Kansas City and San Antonio, between Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Pittsburgh, and between St. Louis and Sarasota, Fla.

"We're continuing to add flights back into our schedule, providing options for Customers to seek their passions and Go With Heart in planning summer travel," Ryan Green, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer at Southwest Airlines, said in a press release.

On July 15, Southwest also will launch new seasonal service on Saturdays between Long Beach, Calif. and Orlando.

With new dates available to book, now is the time to look for a deal before flights start to fill. And if you’re lucky enough to have some flexibility in your schedule, Southwest Airlines' Low Fare Calendar is a great tool to land the best deal.

Plus, Southwest passengers don’t have to worry about getting locked into travel plans too far in advance. The airline has one of most flexible cancellation policies in the industry, non-refundable fares can be canceled for a flight credit up to 10 minutes before scheduled departure.

Additionally, the airline also announced earlier this year that existing and future flight credits will no longer have an expiration date, so you can always use the credit for a future flight if something unexpected arises.
