On a recent Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville to Philadelphia, there was no room for baggage in one of the overhead compartments—because the space was already taken by a flight attendant.

Veronica Lloyd captured footage of the unusual scene that shocked passengers as they boarded the plane and immediately shared it on Twitter, tagging the airline in her post.

"Is this a dream @SouthwestAir ?" she wrote in her first tweet, which included a photo of a flight attendant casually laying in the space typically reserved for carry-on luggage. The woman followed up with a video of the "weird" situation and encouraged the airline to "get it together."

Her posts criticizing Southwest quickly went viral, but most commenters were on board (pun intended) with the flight staff's attempt to have fun by greeting passengers from an unexpected spot on the plane.

It seems the airline stands behind its employee as well.

"Southwest Employees are known for demonstrating their sense of humor and unique personalities," a representative for Southwest said in a statement to Fox News. "In this instance, one of our Flight Attendants attempted to have a brief moment of fun with Customers during boarding. Of course, this is not our normal procedure, and Southwest Crews always maintain Safety as their top priority."
