Southwest Announces Spring Travel Sale With Flights as Low as $49
Southwest Airlines is currently running a "Wanna Get Away" spring travel sale with one-way flights as low as $49 for a limited time.
The deal, which kicked off on March 6 and runs until 11:59 p.m. on March 14, 2024, is valid for travel between March 26 through June 5 for continental U.S. flights; and travel between March 26 through May 22 for international flights and flights to Hawaii and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
As always, there is some fine print. Travelers will have to plan ahead, as there is a 21-day advance purchase required for the discounted flights. Blackout dates also apply, with travel from the continental U.S. to Hawaii, international destinations, and San Juan, blacked out from March 26 through March 27, and travel to the continental U.S. from Hawaii, international destinations, and San Juan blacked out from March 26 through April 3.
The discounted tickets are also valid only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with limited seating and markets.
For those lucky enough to score the best deal, Travel + Leisure notes that some of the $49 fares apply to flights such as from Chicago, IL (Midway) to Nashville, TN; Denver, CO to Albuquerque, NM; Denver to Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Las Vegas, NV to Salt Lake City; and Nashville, TN to Atlanta, GA.
However, while there are some popular spring break destinations included in the sale, such as to Orlando, New Orleans, and Fort Lauderdale, the discounts are not quite as low as the $49 markets.
