Southwest Airlines has made it cheaper for travelers to plan their next beach vacation.

The sale, which ends tomorrow, May 23, at 11:59 p.m. PT, has up to 30 percent off Southwest flights to Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. Travelers must use promo code “BEACHES” under the promo code box when searching for flights on Southwest’s website.

The available travel dates will vary by route. Flights within the continental U.S. can be booked for travel between Aug. 6 and Nov. 20. On the other hand, flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations can be booked for travel between Aug. 20 and Nov. 20. Furthermore, the following blackout dates apply:

  • Continental U.S. flights: Aug. 29-30, Sept. 2, Oct. 13, and Oct. 20

  • Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international travel: Aug. 29 to Sep. 3

All Santa Ana flights are excluded, and this promotion has several other route and date restrictions to note.

The easiest way to see if the savings will apply is to try applying the promo code across several routes and using flexible dates to find the best deals. If the flight is eligible for the 30 percent discount, a green banner will appear that reads, “Score! Promo code BEACHES has been applied.”

Travel + Leisure tested the promo code across many one-way flights in its “Wanna Get Away” fare class:

  • Baltimore to Tampa: $95 ($128 without the promo code)

  • Nashville to Destin: $114 ($154 without the promo code)

  • Kansas City to Orlando: $148 ($195 without the promo code)

  • Los Angeles to Honolulu: $184 ($252 without the promo code)

  • Houston to San Juan: $191 ($257 without the promo code)

  • Phoenix to Maui: $205 ($281 without the promo code)

Travelers can also search for these discounted flights by redeeming Rapid Rewards points. For instance, the same flight from Baltimore to Tampa can be booked for just 6,000 points. It’s also possible to pay with a mix of “points + cash” thanks to Southwest’s newest payment option.
