Southeast's Largest Ski Resort Announces Closing Day

The time has come for West Virginia skiers.

Snowshoe Mountain, West Virginia, announced that this weekend will be its last of lift-serviced skiing and riding for the 2023-2024 season.

In true seasonally confused fashion, Snowshoe Mountain shared on its Instagram story that it saw snow this morning.

The resort's snow report states, "Conditions are variable with some thin, narrow areas and bare patches." Temperatures "got just cold enough for the snow to set up nicely for our groomers."

Twenty-two trails are open today, with the Western Territory providing access to Shay's Revenge, an expert run.

During the weekend, kids 12 and under ski for free. If you have a 2023-2024 season pass from a now-closed ski area, you can get 25% off lift tickets through Sunday.

Wind and mild temperatures are expected at Snowshoe Mountain for the next two days.

The resort kicked off winter on December 2nd, 2023, meaning, with its upcoming closing date, it has offered the region's longest lift-accessed ski season.
