'South Park' Just Filled an NFL Stadium With Cardboard Characters
South Park may have just pulled off the publicity stunt of the year in the build up to its hour-long pandemic special.
With sporting stadiums around the world looking rather empty at the moment, the show has done everything it can to simulate the feeling of a live crowd at an NFL game.
In an attempt to liven up the Denver Broncos stadium and make it look like a full house, the seats were filled with cardboard cut-outs of every single South Park character.
Better still, each resident of the town is adhering to pandemic regulations by wearing a face mask.
Images from inside the stadium, ahead of the Broncos game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were shared by NFL reporter Benjamin Albright, who tweeted: "In addition to the 5700 or so live socially distanced fans, the #Broncos will have the entire town of South Park in the stands today…"
What better way to promote the satirical show's upcoming hour-long episode, literally titled The Pandemic Special, which will air on Wednesday, September 30 on Comedy Central.
The special will see Stan's dad Randy capitalise on the town's ever-growing demand for weed as he "comes to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak."
Meanwhile, as the kids return to a far from normal school environment, Cartman is less than pleased that remote learning is over and he can no longer sit around at home.
