Paramount+ has released a teaser for its next South Park episode. Titled South Park: Joining the Panderverse, it tackles the problems of AI in entertainment.

As per the official description: “Cartman’s deeply disturbing dreams portend the end of the life he knows and loves. The adults in South Park are also wrestling with their own life decisions as the advent of AI is turning their world upside down.”

The teaser shows Stan, Cartman, Kyle and Kenny, but not as we know them. Instead of young boys, they’re represented by adult women, suggesting the satirical show will take a swipe at identity politics.

While character-swapped, the same voice cast returns. Unlike how the Rick and Morty Season 7 trailer reveals a new Rick and Morty after Justin Roiland parted ways with Adult Swim.

The episode is longer than usual, deemed a ‘new exclusive event’ by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. It’s their fifth special since debuting the show in 1997 on Comedy Central, following South Park: Post Covid, South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid, South Park: The Streaming Wars, and South Park: The Streaming Wars Part 2.

Each of these specials were about an hour long, so expect the same from Joining the Panderverse. It streams Friday, Oct. 27 in the U.S. and Canada and the next day in the U.K. and Australia.
