While destinations like Charleston, South Carolina, and Asheville, North Carolina, often rank as two of the best cities in the U.S., Greenville, South Carolina, has emerged as an equally attractive vacation spot with an abundance of new and exciting restaurants, museums, and boutiques. And the city’s latest hotel addition only boosts its growing allure with travelers as a must-visit destination in the Palmetto State.

The Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville, which just opened at the end of August, sits on the banks of the Reedy River, overlooking Falls Park and the Liberty Bridge in downtown Greenville. With its scenic location, luxury guest rooms, spa, art gallery, and three food-and-beverage concepts, the boutique lodge is now at the forefront of the city’s high-end hospitality market, treating guests to chic amenities in an eclectic setting.

“We’re thrilled about the opening of Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville, a boutique lodge perched on the falls of the iconic Reedy River,” Richard C. Kessler, chairman and CEO of The Kessler Collection, told Travel + Leisure. The Kessler Collection has 12 properties in the U.S. in states including Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Colorado. “We are confident our second property in South Carolina will soon be the talk of the town, and there will be no other hotel in the state of South Carolina with such a tranquil ambiance created by natural beauty.”

The property, which took seven years to complete, features eye-catching architecture inspired by traditional park lodges with asymmetrical massing, stone buttresses, wrought-iron motifs, and plenty of windows so guests can enjoy the stunning views that surround the hotel. Upon entering the grand lobby, travelers are greeted in an expansive yet cozy space anchored by a central stone fireplace, elegant seating areas, and access to a spacious terrace overlooking the park.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Between the Trees, is also on this level and offers modern fare curated by chef Nicolas Abello (previously of Michelin-starred L’Appart in New York City). Patrons can dine next to one of the four fireplaces or choose a more intimate experience in the 1,000-bottle wine room or the private dining room with nature views. For cocktail hour or post-dinner drinks, guests are invited to Spirit & Bower, the lodge’s bar that offers indoor and outdoor seating with a stone fire pit and more picture-perfect vistas. Enjoy a craft cocktail or choose from the bar’s extensive collection of rare bourbons and whiskeys. And if you're craving a glass of Champagne and caviar, head to the lobby bar.

All guest rooms and suites come with sweeping views of Liberty Bridge or the falls of Reedy River. The interiors include dark wood finishes, oversized headboards upholstered in rich velvet fabrics in deep green, chic seating areas, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
