Sources Say Liam Hemsworth Still Loves Miley Cyrus Even Though He Filed for Divorce
Liam Hemsworth just filed for a divorce from Miley Cyrus, in case you missed it 😓.
An ET source claimed that Liam's traditional values and inability to "share" Miley with other people was a contributing factor for him to file for divorce.
Uh oh, this Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus divorce is reaaally starting to catch fire now. At first, their split started off amicably enough, with Miley citing "evolution" as the reason why they split and Liam wishing her "nothing but health and happiness" in her future endeavors. But now, more details are coming out about why Liam went ahead with the divorce and things are starting to get a little...soupy, for lack of a better word.
According to an ET source, Liam's more traditional values got in the way of him and Miley's relationship, and he simply couldn't deal with Miley wanting to have experiences with other people. "Liam's decision to file for divorce is sad, but in the end, it was never going to work," the source said. "They are too different. Liam never wanted to share Miley with anyone. He loves her and he is far too traditional. He finally realized he just wants to start fresh." In the past, Miley has been very open about identifying as a queer woman in a heterosexual relationship, and has recently kindled a fling with Kaitlynn Carter, who she may (or may not) be getting serious about.
In addition to his more traditional values, Liam allegedly felt like his relationship with Miley was beyond repair. Earlier on though, Liam initially hoped things between the two of them would magically work themselves out. "At first, Liam wanted to just give it time but he finally felt like things were getting nasty and he didn't want to drag it out publicly," the source said. "He decided it was all too much," and filed for divorce as a result.
It's a really difficult time for both Liam and Miley, but it ultimately sounds like their separation will give Miley the freedom that she needs. "Liam loves Miley and is crushed by all of this," the source said. "But right now Miley doesn't want to answer to anyone. She still feels the need to explore herself, her sexuality and her music. Miley has been working in the studio and wants to blow off steam."
