Van Leeuwen Releases Ice Cream For DogsVan Leeuwen

It's a wonderful time to be a dog. Our furry friends can dine on multi-course meals at fancy restaurants, kick back at lively pubs, and so much more. And if you thought that was impressive, just wait til you hear about the latest pup-friendly food innovation.

The Brooklyn-born ice cream brand Van Leeuwen just announced that it's releasing its first-ever ice cream for dogs. The frosty treat is a collaboration between Van Leeuwen and Ollie, a human-grade dog food brand.

Equal parts sweet and savory, the non-dairy ice cream is made using a peanut butter and banana recipe created by the two brands.

"We’re excited to partner with Ollie to create an extra special treat for pups," said Ben Van Leeuwen, Van Leeuwen co-founder and CEO, in a statement. "It’s the perfect flavor combo – my dog Hachi and our office dogs taste-tested it and could not get enough of it. We hope yours will love it too!”

For those who live in New York or California, you and your pooch can sample ice creams from Van Leeuwen at the following locations:

  • June 1: New York City, Washington Square Park

  • June 2: New York City, Union Square

  • June 8: Los Angeles, Abbot Kinney

  • July 9: Petco Park in San Diego (ice cream for dogs only)

If you aren't able to stop by one of the pop-up events, you can find the collab at Van Leeuwen scoop shops across the country, most Petco locations, and at Petco.com. Ollie subscribers can also get their hands on the ice cream by adding it to an upcoming order.
