Soroptimists past members, friends invited to share experiences

SOMERSET ― You may remember Soroptimist International of Somerset County for its “Dream” projects for women and girls (Dream It, Be It; Live Your Dream) or from the scholarships, the pumpkin and chocolate rolls, the Domestic Violence Awareness programs (“Telling Amy’s Story,” “In Her Shoes” and the billboards ― “Do Your Boys Know ― Real Men Don’t Abuse Women”) and many other projects the Soroptimists have done over the years like the huge antique shows and helping get Sweet Adelines started.

The Soroptimists are also producing their 75th-anniversary booklet for its celebration luncheon on June 22. For those who were a Soroptimist member or friend of Soroptimist over the years, call them with your Soroptimist memories and to let them know if you’d like to attend the luncheon at the Somerset Country Club.

The members are excited about the booklet that participants will receive and those attending will get to see old friends, along with lots of memorabilia to remind them of their times as a member or friend. Call Amy Weimer at 814-279-1356.
