The actor died in November 2022.

The Sopranos actor Frank Vallelonga Jr.'s cause of death has been revealed.

As first reported by The New York Post, a spokesperson for New York City's Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Vallelonga died of an overdose "due to combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine."

The 60-year-old's body was found outside a sheet-metal manufacturing factory in the Bronx on November 28, but police believe it is not the location of his death.

According to the NYPD, the actor appears to have died in a car, with his body tossed out once he was unconscious.

Court documents obtained by the publication revealed that Vallelonga passed in a car that belonged to his brother Nick, the director behind the Oscar-winning film Green Book. However, Nick denied giving Frank or anyone else permission to drive his car.

Court documents also said that a man named Steven Smith was charged with the concealment of a human corpse. Smith was caught on camera removing Vallelonga's body from a car. In Smith's account to police, he said a woman named Pam asked him for help in placing Vallelonga's dead body by the factory.

Smith denied wrongdoing to the NYPD, saying, "That dude was dead already. He overdosed. I didn't have anything to do with that."

Vallenlonga Jr. was best known for portraying Carmine Lupertazzi in The Sopranos. He also appeared in his brother Nick's film Green Book, playing his real-life uncle Rudy Vallelonga.

The 2019 Best Picture-winning flick was based on the true story of how Vallelonga's father Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga Sr. formed a friendship with Black pianist Dr. Donald Shirley after being hired as his driver.
