Sophie Turner's child abduction lawsuit against Joe Jonas has officially been dismissed.

The Los Angeles Times reports that "attorneys for the former couple asked the New York judge overseeing their case to drop the suit in light of an agreed-upon parenting plan," while the New York Times reports that the lawsuit was dismissed "with both parties’ consent" on Wednesday (January 17, 2024).

Back in September, Sophie filed docs in federal court claiming that Joe was illegally keeping their children in NYC and preventing them from returning to England, citing the Hague Convention. Per TMZ's reporting at the time, Sophie wanted a court order "demanding" that Joe "produce the passports and return the kids to her," and claimed that in April of 2023 the couple had decided to make England their "permanent home."

Joe's rep issued a statement published by Page Six, saying in part “Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and is of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the U.S. and the UK.”

They added, “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted.”

Sophie and Joe have since undergone mediation, and singed a temporary custody deal in October.
