Sophie Turner Is All Sorts of Evil in the First ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Trailer

Move over, Sansa Stark. Sophie Turner has a whole new badass role and it may even hit screens sooner than Game of Thrones.

The first trailer of Turner’s upcoming X-Men Universe film, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, just dropped and it’s further proof that the girl can really act. (Brava, Sophie.)

Turner stars as X-Men mutant Jean Grey in the film, which tracks her progression from a child who accidentally causes a car accident to her rise as the X-Men’s most formidable opponent. Jean is nearly killed during a rescue mission in space but lives and returns to Earth more powerful than ever. She spirals out of control and threatens to crack the foundation that holds the X-Men together.

Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand) wrote and directed the film, which also stars X-Men vets Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops). Jessica Chastain is also joining the mutant fold as Smith.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters on February 14, 2019. Guess we know what Turner and her fiance, Joe Jonas, are doing next Valentine’s Day.
