From Good Housekeeping

  • Sophie Turner just shared a major hint for the final season of Game of Thrones, and it will absolutely ruin you.

  • Sophie’s character, Sansa Stark, has been through the wringer the past seven seasons (I'm still not over that Ramsay Bolton mess) and her fate is bleak.

This post contains spoilers! If that phrase fills you with dread, just catch up with the show already!

Let me just start out by saying this post is extremely upsetting because it’s about the hands-down best character on Game of Thrones and her possible death. Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) just spoke with Rolling Stone about growing up in the spotlight, Sophie taking inspiration from Justin Bieber and his fans when playing Sansa, and the finale, of course.

First of all, Sophie said the early days of her character were inspired by Beliebers and the “Sorry” singer. “She [Sansa] sees the world through rose-tinted glasses at the very beginning,” Sophie recalled. “She is completely oblivious to who the royal family are. It’s like any Justin Bieber fan - they don’t realize Justin has his darkness about him.” Sophie, who is a self-proclaimed fan of Bieber, said she also used to pretend that Joffrey Baratheon’s character was Justin to properly swoon over him once the cameras were rolling. Obviously, that didn’t last long because Joffrey is a monster and pushed Sansa into the living hell she’s in right now!

Speaking of, Maisie’s hint implied that Sansa’s life is about to get a whole lot worse. She told the magazine, “After I read season eight, I watched season one - there’s a lot of similarities.” Basically, there’s a theory going around that Sansa will die because in a teaser for this upcoming season, she tells Daenerys Targaryen, “Winterfell is yours, Your Grace.” Oddly enough, that’s the same thing her dad, Ned Stark, said to Robert Baratheon in season one before he went down to King’s Landing and got his head chopped off. Fans are convinced this means Sansa and Daenerys might have a showdown, which makes Maisie’s comment incredibly worrisome if you’re a Sansa stan.

On the other hand, Sophie said the showrunners presented her with a storyboard of their favorite scene featuring Sansa once season eight wrapped. The scene they chose just so happened to be the last one of her in the entire series, and she has it hanging on her wall at home. This should give you some semblance of hope because who would hang a photo of their character’s death on their walls? It must be a happy or relatively tame ending for Sansa if Sophie feels like it would make great wall art, no? Plus, Sophie said no one has paid any mind to the photo when they've come into her home, which would be the exact opposite of what would happen if it were a photo of Sansa dying.

Ultimately, Sophie said, “I feel very satisfied with the ending of the entire show. Every story arc came to a really good close.”

April 14, hurry up!!!
