Sophie Turner Dishes on All Things ‘GoT’ with a Side of Joe Jonas

Sophie Turner is an open book when it comes to talking about her role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones and the unbreakable bonds she has formed with her castmates, but when it comes to talking about new fiancé Joe Jonas, her lips are pretty much sealed.

In an interview for Marie Claire’s November issue, Turner avoided almost every question regarding her recent engagement to Jonas. (Respect. You do you, Sophie.) However, she did give us some insight into Jonas’s influence on her free time and admitted she’s interested in learning how to play the guitar. She said, “I’m terrible. I really want to learn to play properly.”

The 21-year-old star also mentioned she regularly hangs out with her GoT pals—including Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie and Alfie Allen—because they all live “about ten minutes away from each other.” She continued, “It’s still Game of Thrones town in London. We meet up whenever we can. We all party together. We go to festivals together. We’ll probably all be 80 and still going to Glastonbury.”

Turner further reflected on her GoT journey and revealed she didn’t know anything about the show, George R. R. Martin’s cult literary following or even HBO when she originally auditioned for the role of Sansa Stark, but she did know it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She added, “That’s what I craved. I didn’t want some happy-go-lucky, bubblegum thing. I wanted real acting.”

She went on to say that the show’s coming to an end is weighing heavily on the entire Game of Thrones “family.” She continued, “It’s like the carpet is being taken away underneath you. It’s also exciting because there’s such freedom.”

We get it, Sophie. We really do.
