Grant Hughes and Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush's soon-to-be ex-husband Grant Hughes is weighing in on her new budding romance.

Earlier this week, news broke that the former One Tree Hill actress has reportedly been sparking a relationship with soccer star Ashlyn Harris in the wake of their respective divorces.

Now Hughes, 42—who tied the knot with Bush in June of last year—remains "supportive" of his ex, despite the pair's decision to call off their marriage after just 13 months of being husband and wife.

"Grant will always want the best for Sophia, and is supportive of all that makes her happy and fulfilled," a rep for Hughes stated to Page Six.

When Bush, 41, filed for divorce from Hughes back in August, sources at the time claimed that the duo was still on good terms amid their shocking split.

"Sophia and Grant were friends for 10 years and bonded during COVID through their love of community service," said one source, as Parade reported. "They continue to run their nonprofit together and remain good friends."

On Tuesday, Bush's love life made headlines once again after PEOPLE reported that she and Harris have been hanging out together recently. The soccer star, 37, is currently going through her own divorce from wife Ali Krieger.

"After being friends for years, and running in the same social circles, Sophia and Ashlyn went out on their first dinner date a couple of weeks ago," an insider told the publication. "This is so recent, and they are both beginning new chapters."

Krieger—who shares two children with Krieger—filed for divorce in September, even though their initial split seems to date further back.

"Although it's new information to the public, Ashlyn and Ali's divorce began months ago and they have been living apart since the summer," the insider added to PEOPLE, claiming that "there is no salacious story" when it comes to Harris' rumored new relationship with Bush, "though the public may want there to be."

Since the news of her romance with Bush went public, fans have noticed that Harris' Instagram bio no longer includes "Proud wife," and instead reads, "Retired Professional Athlete 2x World Champion," according to Page Six.
