Sonic Is Releasing a New $2 McDonald’s Copycat

In a fast food world full of shrinkflation and rumors of impending surge pricing, sometimes finding a deal can seem too good to be true. Remember when fast food restaurants had dollar menus and value deals? Now, we’re all so used to paying upwards of $10 for a burger and fries that we don’t even bat an eye.

On the flip side, when menu items are cheap or even free, it’s like we’ve all struck gold. So, you might want to sit down for this news because not only is Sonic releasing a new menu item that rivals McDonald’s Snack Wrap, but it’s also only $1.99.

Sonic Introduces Crispy Chicken Wraps

Ever since Mickey D’s discontinued its beloved Snack Wrap, it seems like other fast food restaurants have been trolling them by showing off just how easy it is to bring rivals to menus. In 2023 alone, KFC, Wendy’s, and Burger King all released their own versions of the chicken wrap. And even though McDonald’s claims a version of the Snack Wrap will be returning soon, Sonic already beat them to the punch.

Not to mention, none of the other fast food restaurants can hold a candle to Sonic’s $2 price tag.

For a limited time, Sonic has two Crispy Chicken Wraps available on its menu—the Hickory BBQ Crispy Tender Wrap and the Cheesy Baja Crispy Tender Wrap.

Sonic’s Hickory BBQ Crispy Tender Wrap features an all-white meat tender with hickory BBQ sauce, shredded Cheddar, and shredded lettuce in a warm tortilla. The Cheesy Baja Crispy Tender Wrap is an all-white meat tender with zesty cheese sauce, shredded Cheddar, and shredded lettuce in a warm tortilla.

Each wrap costs $1.99—and while it’s not officially joining Sonic’s Under $4 Favorites menu, it might as well be. The new chicken wraps are in good company as a value item—the Under $4 Favorites menu alone includes a Corn Dog, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Chili Cheese Coney, All-American Dog, Chicken Slinger, Hot Fudge Sundae, Caramel Sundae, and Strawberry Sundae.

And, if the cheap chicken wrap hasn’t sold you, Sonic is offering its $1.99 Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger for a limited time, too.

It seems Sonic is the place to be for great food and great deals. Reba McEntire has known for years, why haven’t we followed suit until now?
