Sonic Is Launching a Brand-New Burger with a Wild Flavor Combo

There’s a new, limited-time set of menu items coming to Sonic Drive-In that’s worth driving over to those iconic car-park stalls and placing an order. For just four weeks this winter, Sonic is embracing the delicious flavor combination of peanut butter and bacon by adding both a new cheeseburger and a milkshake to its menu.

Starting nationwide on Jan. 8, guests will be able to go nuts over the Peanut Butter Bacon SuperSonic Double Cheeseburger and the Peanut Butter Bacon Shake at their local Sonic restaurant. Looking forward to getting your hands on these limited-time menu selections? The drive-in fast-food chain has been around since 1953 and has more than 3,500 restaurants in 48 states, so there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find these peanut buttery, bacon-y creations near you when the items launch.

The Peanut Butter Bacon SuperSonic Double Cheeseburger will feature two 100 percent all-beef patties layered with creamy peanut butter, crispy bacon, grilled onions, and melted cheese—all served on a toasted, bakery-style bun. Starting at just $6.39, it’s affordable enough that you won’t think twice about pairing the dish with some tots or an icy cold soda.

For dessert, there’s also the Peanut Butter Bacon shake, vanilla soft-serve mixed with creamy peanut butter and crispy bacon and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Starting at just $3.99 for a medium, the sweet and savory dessert is a peanut butter lover’s dream come true and packs a salty and crisp crunch with the addition of bacon pieces.

Both of these creative new mashups hit Sonic Drive-In on Jan. 8 and will remain on the menu for four weeks. New to ordering at Sonic? It’s easy to place an order in the Sonic app, online, or at the restaurant. Be sure to keep an eye on the app, as there are often special in-app deals that can help you save on Sonic’s tasty treats.
