COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — From the Komen Columbus Race for the Cure in downtown Columbus to the Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival at the Historic Crew Stadium, here are things to see and do this weekend in central Ohio.

Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival

Historic Crew Stadium from Thursday through Sunday

  • The four-day mega rock festival is set to return with its largest lineup, which includes headliners such as Disturbed, The Original Misfits, Pantera, and Slipknot. Sonic Temple will take place once again at Historic Crew Stadium.

The Columbus Symphony performs Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 2”

Ohio Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday

  • Rising conductor Kenneth Bean joins the orchestra, with cellist Tommy Mesa performing two works: a new cello concerto by Jessie Montgomery, current composer-in-residence at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Tchaikovsky’s “Variations on a Rococo Theme.”

‘Unextinct’

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on Friday and Saturday

  • Enter a world where 70 extinct and endangered species come to life using tech-driven theatrical illusions, allowing guests to learn about the importance of conservation and the role we all play in species survival.

Komen Columbus Race for the Cure

North Bank Park at 8:10 a.m. on Saturday

  • Join the 2024 Komen Columbus Race for the Cure, which fundraises research that provides new breakthroughs that give more time to everyone in their fight against breast cancer.

‘Go Wild!’

Ohio Theatre at 3 p.m. on Sunday

  • Join the Columbus Symphony and the Ohio Wildlife Center as they explore some of the wild and woolly creatures you can find in your backyard. Listen for the bees buzzing through Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumble” and swans gliding through Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.”

Huntington Park through Sunday

  • The Columbus Clippers face the Louisville Bats in a six-game series.

Blooms and Butterflies

Franklin Park Conservatory through July 7

  • Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Blooms and Butterflies has returned featuring various butterflies from around the world inside the largest indoor biome at the conservatory.

  • “Hair” is the iconic original Broadway rock musical featuring chart-topping hits such as “Aquarius,” “Let the Sunshine In,” and “Good Morning, Starshine.”
