Someone started a GoFundMe to make Kylie Jenner a billionaire, and Twitter is NOT having it
Kylie Jenner is on track to become the youngest self-made billionaire ever. The reality TV star and lip kit mogul appears on the cover of the August 2018 issue of Forbes, which breaks down her total net worth — a figure that currently sits around the $900 million mark. There have been many debates on what “self-made” actually means in Kylie’s case, considering the financial safety net her famous family has afforded her. But with the success of Kylie Cosmetics, there’s no denying that she’s on track to cross the threshold from millionaire to billionaire sooner rather than later.
Since her estimated net worth is already $900 million, she needs $100 million more to officially make the title jump. So in order to help get her there faster, someone set up a GoFundMe page for Kylie. Yes, really. We’re not making this up. The campaign, titled “Let’s Get Kylie Jenner to a Billion,” hopes to help her raise the final $100 million she needs (“needs”) to get her to the billionaire status more quickly.

Now, you might be thinking, Ha ha. There’s no way people would actually donate to this GoFundMe for Kylie Jenner. But that’s the problem: People ARE donating to it. As of this writing, “Let’s Get Kylie Jenner to a Billion” has raised over $2,000 from almost 100 people.
Listen. People have the right to do whatever they want with their money. But with everything going on in our country and world, there are 100 million more worthy causes that could use $100 million. Crowding funding sites, especially GoFundMe, are commonly used to support people during times of need. Unfortunately, a lot of GoFundMe campaigns have life or death implications if they don’t receive full funding. Even if the Kylie Jenner campaign is a joke, it ceases to be funny when people actually support it. So it makes sense that people on Twitter had a lot to say about this campaign.
Twitter took on the Kylie Jenner GoFundMe, and they didn’t hold back.
Good morning to everyone except the people who started a GoFundMe to donate $100M to make Kylie Jenner a billionaire.

I don't like over exaggerations on Twitter but if you gave money to a GoFundMe to make 900 million dollar Kylie Jenner a billionaire you shouldn't get to vote, drive a car, hold a job, raise children, or be in charge of any major life changing decisions moving foward

Many people commented that the $100 million could be used to help solve Flint’s water crises, or help fund school districts that desperately need it.
People out here starting a gofundme so Kylie Jenner can go from $900M to $1B and CLARK COUNTY IS SHORT 1000 TEACHERS AND $60M+ DOLLARS FOR OUR FUCKING SCHOOLS. And people are donating. You wanna donate? Invest in our future you trash ass MFs.

Setting up the GoFundMe campaign for Kylie may have started as a joke. But now that people are actually donating to it, we can’t ignore it or simply laugh it off. There are plenty of other worthy things to spend your money on, and we hope the money raised in Kylie’s name will help a cause or an organization in need.
