Known for its scenic route, gourmet dining, and local wine, the Napa Valley Wine Train just may be the best way to experience California wine country. And it just got even better: Now, you can solve murder mysteries aboard the train.

The vintage train’s early 20th-century Pullman cars perfectly set the scene for the murder mystery organized by The Murder Mystery Company. Over the course of three hours, you’ll enjoy three gourmet courses of fine California cuisine while you experience “Real Life Theater.” As you journey through the Napa Valley, you’ll search for the killer among your fellow dinner guests—or, if you’re the murderer, you’ll spend the evening hiding your identity. At the end of the ride, the murderer will be revealed and awards will be presented to those who solved the mystery.

Have a preference for the type of murder you want to solve? You can choose from a wide selection of immersive themes. And to make the murder mysteries more realistic, there’s even a list of suggested attire for each theme. You can channel your inner Gatsby and dress in 20’s attire for the “Crime and Punishment” and “Death of a Gangster” themes, or there’s a “Wizard and Witches” in October that Harry Potter fans will love. And masks donned at the “Midnight at the Masquerade” are sure to add more mystery to the game. Other creative experiences include a “Til Death Do Us Part” wedding theme and “Now you See It; Now You Don’t,” where guests should dress in formal attire.

The murder mystery rides run through December 5, and tickets range from $230 to $280.
