"As soon as he got out of the car, it made me tear up," Erin Hester told Fox News.

Hester was driving back to work after lunch one day last week when she came across a sight that moved her to tears. On a busy road in Pine Grove, Kentucky—a town located just outside Ft. Knox Army Base—she watched a soldier get out of his car and salute a passing funeral procession in the middle of the pouring rain. Car after car had driven by, but for this soldier at least, honor and respect don't get rained out.

"I always get frustrated when I see cars that don't pull to the side and stop for a procession, but this gentlemen went above and beyond," Hester wrote alongside a photo of the moving moment that has since gone viral.

"This made my heart happy to see the amount of respect that this gentleman showed a family that he doesn't even know," she continued.

According to Fox News, the soldier's identity remains unknown, and it's unclear whether or not the funeral procession was for a member of the military. No matter the motivation, we know one thing for sure: this nameless soldier is a hero.
