Solange Pulls Off a Particularly Tricky Dress on The Tonight Show
Solange is clearly a fashion risk-taker. Who else would be daring enough to allow their social media followers to choose their Met Gala dress, as Solange did last year with the structural, yonic black Iris van Herpen number that she ended up wearing to the saintly-themed gala?
Even in relation to her daring standards, though, the artist outdid herself last night with the black Dion Lee dress that she wore for her mini-concert on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Solange performed a medley of songs—she seamlessly brought together multiple cuts from When I Get Home, including everything from“Taking on the Light” to “Binz,” to name just a few—with a crew of supporting singers and dancers, all of whom also wore pieces from Lee. Solange’s choice, though, with its super high slit and hip-baring cutouts, proved one of the most daring of the bunch. Any type of cutout is a bit intimidating, let alone two symmetrical ones that expose your hips, of all places. In classically fearless fashion, though, Solange somehow made it look like a modest choice.
