Solange Knowles Steps Out With Her Most Striking Hair Look Yet
On Thursday, Solange Knowles debuted a mane of braided and beaded peroxide on Instagram.

For Solange Knowles, artful Afros and winding embellished plaits are something of a signature—and she's always up for raising the bar on her own above-neck detailing. After a month-long selfie hiatus, yesterday's Instagram feed saw a quartet of shares from the politicized performer, each featuring a cascade of hip-reaching platinum baby braids, many threaded through staggered columns of alabaster beads freckled with white cowrie shells. The striking style was a cocktail of previous looks, a melding of last fall's mixed-breadth-braids—which doubled as her first brush with woven peroxide—and the temple-down carmine baubles which Knowles shook out just months later.

The braids and beads are the brainchild of Hair By Susy, a Brooklyn salon also responsible for sister Beyoncé's thigh-skimming baby plaits, worn in portions of Lemonade. But the most eye-catching element of Knowles's most recent iteration is a single shell attached to swing at the center of her forehead like a constant crown. Because the best lengths should make the wearer feel regal—all while doubling as idiosyncratic works of art.
