As a shopping writer who tests out beauty products on a regular basis, there’s one nugget of wisdom that’s never failed me — your makeup only looks as good as the skincare you layer underneath.
While it’s taken me some time to get to a place where I understand and listen to what my skin needs, I’ve discovered the perfect combination of skincare products that work wonders under my go-to foundation. It just so happens that Sofia Vergara uses them, too.
This month, Amal and George Clooney hosted their second annual Albie Awards — an event that honors courageous defenders of justice across the globe, and the list of attendees was star-studded, to say the least. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury curated looks for Amal Clooney, Kate Moss, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Sofia Vergara — whose red carpet glam, according to the brand, was prepped with the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum, two formulas I swear by for glowy, long-lasting makeup looks.

Every morning, I look forward to using my Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum to wake up my complexion thanks to a cooling caffeinated complex that instantly smooths and depuffs my dark circles. I’ve never liked thick skincare products, and I appreciate that this eye serum doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue, and makeup glides on top of it. My favorite part has to be its cool tip applicator that feels identical to ice rolling, and I thoroughly enjoy massaging the product into my eyes for several minutes. I can see the swelling reduce almost immediately — true skincare magic.

After I use the eye serum, I pat the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir onto my face. It combines vitamin C and polyglutamic acid, which offers four times more hydration than hyaluronic acid for a youthful glow that leaves my skin supple, plump, and bright. After using this product for over a month, I’ve noticed my skin feels tighter and stays hydrated under my foundation, and the fine lines around my eyes look less prominent. Not to mention, it has a fresh, herbal scent that makes each application feel luxurious.
To say I’m in love with these products would be an understatement. Not only do they refresh and brighten my complexion, but they work well as primers underneath my makeup.
