Sofia Richie Won’t Be on the Upcoming Season of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’
Sofia Richie is leaving Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Sofia revealed that she’s leaving the reality show so she can move into acting.
IDK about you, but I am a devoted stan of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. I mean, I live for the drama on the show!! It’s fine. So that being said, my fave plotline—aside from the never-ending Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian drama—is anything that has to do with Sofia Richie and her relationship with Scott Disick and how he manages co-parenting with Kourtney while having a GF. But sadly, this plotline may have to take a back seat in the next season.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sofia said she will be leaving KUWTK in 2020—not permanently but just for the upcoming installment of the show. Why? “Well, because I want to get into acting!” she explained. “I feel like, for a while, I kind of held back on things because I was afraid of failure, but 2020 is [the year of] no fear! I’m gonna be doing acting stuff really soon,” adding that “great things are happening and I’m really excited about it.”
Instead of doing reality TV, Sofia’s starting off with acting gigs that mirror her actual life—that way, it’s a little less complicated for her to assume her given characters. “The roles I’m reading for right now are kind of similar to me, so they’re easy for me to play and I really, really enjoy it,” she said.
For the most part, Sofia’s pretty excited about this next stage of her life. In the interview, she also explained that she “kind of felt like I was stuck in everyone’s shadow,” referring to her musician dad, Lionel Richie, and her sister, Nicole Richie. “I’m very different from both my sister and my dad, so I feel like I’ve kind of navigated into my lane and it’s been great for me,” Sofia said, so we’ll just have to see what’s in store for her next.
