Sofia Carson Gave Us the Details on Her New Revlon Collection

Like the rest of us, actor and singer Sofia Carson has been approaching her makeup routine differently while staying at home. Unlike the rest of us, when she does put on makeup lately, the products she reaches for are from her very own Revlon collection.

"I've been able to stay quite busy, even though the meaning of 'busy' changed," Carson tells Allure. "My performances now take place from my bedroom or living room with a ring light, and I've found that the mornings when I take the time [to put make on], it does help me feel better."

This month, Carson joins the ranks of Ashley Graham and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with her very own Revlon collection.

Announced today, June 29, the Revlon x Sofia Carson Collection contains matte lipsticks in bullet and liquid form, nail polishes, and lip kits that include all three — all of which are in Carson's favorite nude and red shades.

"I've always gravitated toward either a red lip or a neutral nude lip," says Carson. "A red lip just makes me feel unstoppable, and neutral lips make me feel timeless, but still really bold."

The collection is built around those two favorite shade types. First up, we have Carson's versions of the iconic Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks. Last year, the brand expanded the fan- (like, three-generations-of-fandom)- favorite Lustrous formula to include matte lipsticks.

The result? The Super Lustrous The Lucious Mattes, a bullet lipstick with all the creamy pigment power of the traditional formula, plus a modern matte finish. Carson's collection includes two existing shades and two brand-new ones, The Sofia Red (a true red) and Obsessed (her perfect nude.) Of course, since this is Revlon, each lipstick retails for less than $9.

Carson is fan-girling about the collection right along with her 15 million Instagram followers. "The most surreal part of it all is the fact that there is a shade called The Sofia Red," she says. "In my wildest dreams, I never imagined that."

In addition to its Lucious Matte iteration, The Sofia Red also comes in Ultra HD Matte Lip Color ($10) and Super Lustrous Nail Enamel ($6). If you prefer liquid mattes, Carson has you covered. The collection includes four matte liquid lipstick shades: the aforementioned Sofia Red and Obsessed nude, plus Forever Yours (hot pink) and Wish (purple-red).

If you want to match your lip to your polish, two lip kits ($20 each) set you up for a monochromatic beauty look. Each kit contains a nail polish, matte bullet, and liquid matte in either The Sofia Red or Obsessed. Finally, for manicure lovers, the collection also includes four polishes — and here, things get a little darker. In addition to the two signature polish shades, choose from In the Woods (deep burgundy) and Black Cherry (rich purple).

We connected with Carson soon after she shot the campaign teaser, and her love for the shades was fresh in her mind. "I got to wear each one of the shades back-to-back, and I got to experience, yet again, what each of them makes me feel," she says. "It felt nice to kind of do that for myself. I hope that people can wear these shades and feel happy, or feel unstoppable, or just feel better."

The Revlon x Sofia Carson Collection is available at Walmart, with some additional products on amazon.com, and will launch in CVS stores this September.
