Are Socks and Sandals a No-No? Sophie Turner Begs to Differ

This summer, stylish celebrities haven’t shied away from challenging the fashion taboos you never knew needed challenging. Today, Sophie Turner makes the case for breaking another cardinal rule of style: socks and sandals, worn together. It’s a move that’s been called geeky, a move synonymous with dad-style. Turner, however, turns it into a discreet fashion statement. The actress hit the streets in New York City sporting a pair of comfy APL slides and graphic checkerboard socks. Up top, a cropped button-up shirt in a subtle gingham print and denim cut-off shorts were accessorized with squared sunglasses and a tasteful gold chain necklace. Which perhaps holds the key to why it all works: if the footwear’s gonna be cheeky, everything else must be chic.
