Social Light: The BAFTA TV Awards 2018

Sue Perkins hosted this year’s BAFTA TV awards, which took over London’s Royal Festival Hall. Winners included Vanessa Kirby for her role as Princess Margaret in The Crown and Detectorists’ Toby Jones, scoring his first BAFTA for his sweetly melancholic depiction of Lance Stater: forklift truck driver, amateur musician and member of the Danebury Metal Detecting Club. Peaky Blinders surprised audiences by scooping the award for Best Drama Series, comedy This Country took home two awards, and Sean Bean was crowned best actor for his role in the BBC’s Broken. Photographer Charlie Clift was there to capture the stars celebrating, with Martin Freeman, Sir David Attenborough, Ashley Walters and Claire Foy all in attendance.
