Acclaimed Brazilian soccer player Neymar Jr. will join PUBG: Battlegrounds in a new update coming to the game later this month. Known for dominating the field as a forward for the Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar will now extend his influence to take over PUBG.

The soccer player will be featured throughout the game in the form of billboards, building decorations, soccer balls and care packages. These objects are largely collaborative and will be added to every map across the battle royale title.

The forthcoming update 20.2 will also implement across-the-board improvements affecting map rotation, vehicle spawn rates and more. Developers have remade the game’s matchmaking system to focus on individual stats rather than team stats as a whole, while continuing to uphold current squad play mechanics.

Alongside those changes, there’s new item sets, survivor passes and victory dances being added to the Hunter's Chest and Archivist’s Chest.

Neymar Jr. will debut on PUBG: Battlegrounds in the 20.2 update, debuting on PC on November 9 and on consoles on November 17.

In other gaming news, Hideo Kojima has revealed that Shioli Kutsuna will star in his new game.
