Snowboarder Frees Ski From Jackson Hole's Corbet's Couloir

If you clicked on this article, you probably know the drill by now: Corbet's Couloir—located at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyoming—is one of the gnarliest in-bounds runs in North America.

The big mountain test piece is known as a stage for snowsports' best athletes to strut their stuff with showstopping flips, but this snowboarder opted for a more subtle maneuver.

Yep. Ouch.

Out of all the possible ways to get battered on the slopes, landing butt-first on a ski isn't exceptionally high on my list. Still, you can't deny that the snowboarder's heroic effort worked, even if it probably left him with a bruised tailbone.

Speaking of Corbet's, the famous Couloir will soon play host to the Kings & Queens of Corbet's, an event that consistently delivers some of the ski season's most thrilling moments.

We covered the Kings & Queens athlete roster here, but I'll also include it below to save you a click.

Ski Men: Alex Hackel, Alex Hall, Blake Wilson, Colby Stevenson, Karl Fostvedt, Mac Forehand

Ski Women: Claire McPherson, Piper Kunst, Veronica Paulsen

Snowboard Men: Cam Fitzpatrick, Cooper Branham, Grant Giller, Jack Wiley, Mason Lemery, Sean Miskiman, Torgeir Bergrem, Yuki Kadono

Snowboard Women: Erika Vikander, Sarka Pancochova
