Snowboarder Enjoys Two Feet Of Fresh Powder At Aspen Snowmass
Nope, you didn't read that headline incorrectly.
Yesterday, October 29th, snowboarder and OpenSnow forecaster Luke Stone was lucky enough to ride over two feet of fresh powder at Aspen Snowmass (a resort group including four mountains: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass), Colorado.
For clarity, he toured up to score these turns -- Aspen Snowmass hasn't opened its lifts yet.
Enjoy some FOMO-inducing turns.
There are seasonally confused storms that dump a few inches, and then there's this. Aspen got absolutely buried this past weekend.
In response to the storm, Aspen Snowmass issued the following statement on its Instagram story yesterday.

It's an important message. While you can make like Stone and do some early-season touring, make sure you're dialed as Aspen Snowmass noted that there are currently no ski patrollers on duty.
On a less serious note, Aspen Snowmass also shared an unquestionably absurd image of their snow stake.
Unsurprisingly, Aspen Mountain's base area is still looking snowy as of today, October 30th.

There's still about a month to go before Aspen Snowmass' opening date on November 23rd, although what a kick in the pants for the upcoming ski season!
Whoever's diligently been doing their snow dances, keep it up -- at this rate, we'll be in for a bomber winter.
