Throughout the Games, Snoop will be on the ground in Pairs to provide audiences with his colorful take on the happenings in the city. He will attend Olympic competitions and events, visit the athletes and the members of their inner circle, and explore iconic Parisian landmarks.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris,” Snoop said in a statement. “We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix.”

The 52-year-old multihyphenate actually has a strong track record in Olympic commentary. Snoop and comedian Kevin Hart garnered a ton of online attention for their colorful commentary on the 2021 Summer Games in Tokyo.

“Snoop is already an Olympic gold medal commentator, generating tens of millions of views for his highlights commentary on Peacock of the dressage competition during the Tokyo Olympics,” said Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production. “That performance alone has earned Snoop a job as our special correspondent in Paris.”

Viewers have been given a taste of Snoop’s coverage, too. NBCU shared a 75-second version of the spot during halftime of Sunday Night Football. In the “Snoop Year’s Eve” video, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” singer talks with gymnast Suni Lee, basketballer A’ja Wilson, skateboarder Jagger Eaton, and beach volleyball duo Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes about their past triumphs and future Olympic dreams.

This will be the third time Paris has hosted the Olympics, but the first time that competitions will be held amid famous landmarks. Beach volleyball will be played at the Eiffel Tower, equestrian will take place at the Palace of Versailles, and other sports carried out at Place de la Concorde, for example. NBCU owns the U.S. media rights to the Olympics through 2032, with NBC and Peacock being the company’s primary platforms for coverage of the Games.

“It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked,” adds Snoop. “Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold.”

The Olympic Primetime Show will begin on July 26.
