'SNL' Fans Are Begging on Twitter for the Show to Come Back

From Good Housekeeping

Don't know about you, but to us and much of Twitter, the holiday episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Kristen Wiig, truly felt like forever ago.

Though it's normal for the comedy sketch show to take a winter hiatus this time of year, fans seem to be getting antsy for the show to return. "I can’t emphasize how much I need SNL to come back," one fan tweeted. "It was a real bummer SNL wasn't on last night. Can't wait to see what y'all come up with when you are back," a different fan said last Sunday. "I miss snl come back already @nbcsnl," someone else begged.

So when is the next new episode of SNL airing in 2021?

Don't worry, SNL fans: the wait is likely almost over. While this weekend might be SNL-less, fans will get to laugh along with Kate McKinnon, Bowen Yang, Michael Che, and the rest of the comedians really soon. According to the recently released SNL lineup, the show will be back with a new episode on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

The first episode back will have John Krasinski hosting and Machine Gun Kelly as the musical guest. The following week, Feb. 6, will have Dan Levy as host and Phoebe Bridgers as the musical guest. Finally, Regina King will host the Feb. 13 episode and Nathaniel Rateliff will be the musical guest.

While we all wait for these future episodes, viewers can pass the time watching old SNL clips (like the below skit from early on in season 46) on YouTube or full episodes on Hulu.

Hang in there, folks — Madame Vivelda predicts SNL will be back in no time!
