This Sneaker Is Designed Entirely from 3D Scans of Runners' Feet

These might be the best-fitting running shoes out there. Fleet Feet teamed up with Finnish sneaker brand Karhu to develop the first-ever running shoe constructed from 3D scans of 100,000 real customers' feet. Fleet Feets's in-store 3D scanners—called fit id —analyze your foot shape and size to help find the best running shoes for you. Karhu used data points from 100,000 of those foot scans to create the mold for their new Ikoni sneaker. They tweaked things like heel width, instep height, and heel girth to accommodate a wide range of foot shapes and sizes. —Victor Ornelas, director of brand management at Fleet Feet So far, Ikoni testers have praised its smooth ride and super responsive cushioning—making it suitable for both beginners and veterans chasing PRs. The Ikoni is available now for $130 at Fleet Feet stores and online at fleetfeet.com.
