We Final Have a Trailer for Lindsay Lohan’s Netflix Holiday Rom-Com

The greatest Christmas gift of all? A Lindsay Lohan comeback. And that’s exactly what we’re getting this year.

Though the former child star has taken a break from acting lately, she’s returning to the screen for a holiday rom-com on Netflix. In Falling for Christmas, she’ll star as a newly engaged hotel heiress who suffers amnesia in a skiing accident and “finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas,” per the logline in Variety. Hmm, we wonder what could possibly happen next?

Lohan seems glad to return to rom-coms. “It’s such a refreshing, heartwarming romantic comedy and I miss doing those kinds of movies,” she told Tudum.

She even enjoyed doing her ski stunts, though she's not really a skiier. “All the stunt scenes were really fun for me because I haven’t gotten to do that much in a lot of my films,” Lohan explained. “I love the idea of skiing,” she added later, “[but] I’m not very good at it.” Nothing a little movie magic can't fix.

When does it come out?

Falling for Christmas hits Netflix on Thursday, Nov. 10.

Production began last November, according to a previous report from Variety. At the time, Netflix shared the first photo from the set, sending fans into a frenzy.

Who is in the cast?

Joining Lohan in the cast is former Glee star Chord Overstreet as the aforementioned lodge owner. (He’s already got the flannel wardrobe down pat, judging by that photo alone.)

According to Entertainment Weekly, George Young (Malignant), Jack Wagner (Melrose Place), and Olivia Perez (In the Heights) are also in the cast. Janeen Damian (who helmed Hallmark Channel’s A Christmas Waltz) is directing. She also wrote the script with Jeff Bonnett, Ron Oliver, and Michael Damian, per EW.

Lohan’s casting as the “spoiled hotel heiress” was first announced in May 2021, so fans are already months-deep in anticipation for the upcoming project. In an interview with Tudum, Lohan described her character as, “Extravagant. Temperamental. Glamorous.”

Is there a trailer?

Yes! Netflix shared the first footage from the festive film on Oct. 7. It even includes a Lohan singing “Jingle Bell Rock” in the background. A film and musical comeback for Lindsay Lohan? It's two gifts in one.
