On Sunday, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith celebrated 20 years of marriage, and the 49-year-old actor couldn't help but gush about his beautiful wife and their beautiful life together.

Smith took to Instagram to share his secret for keeping his marriage strong for two decades. "Love is like gardening," he wrote. "I have learned to focus on helping you to blossom into what you want to be (into what you were born to be), rather than demanding that you become what my fragile ego needs you to be."

He goes on to say that he has learned to "take pleasure" in helping Jada achieve her dreams, "rather than wrestle with you to fulfill my selfish needs and satiate my insecurities."

He ended the post by wishing his "Queen" a happy anniversary.

The couple first met in 1994 when Jada auditioned for the role of Will's girlfriend on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She didn't get the role, but instead quickly became his real-life girlfriend. The two married a few years later, on December 31, 1997.

"I really think that Will and I just have amazing chemistry on a lot of different levels," Jada said on Watch What Happens Live last July. "We love to laugh together. We love to learn together and we just love each other. We just have a good time together. I guess that's the secret. We just really like each other."

Like many celebrity couples, Will and Jada have faced their fair share of rumors over the years, but always stayed strong. Jada said on the Howard Stern show that the key to making it work is simply trusting each other.

"Here's what I trust: The man that Will is … is a man of integrity. He's got all the freedom in the world," she said. "As long as Will can look himself the mirror and be okay? I'm good."

Will and Jada have two children together, 17-year-old Willow and 19-year-old Jaden. Will also has another son, Trey Smith, from a previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.
