Bad Boys 4 is officially in pre-production over at Sony, with franchise stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprising their roles as narcotics detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett.

The actors confirmed the news on Instagram, with Smith uploading a video of him driving to Lawrence’s home's while listening to Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee’s Bad Boys II soundtrack cut “Shake Ya Tailfeather." The comedic visual sees the pair reunite once more and even joke about how they should have used their slogan, "Bad boys for life," for the upcoming movie rather than its 2020 predecessor.

Bad Boys 4 will be helmed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with Chris Bremner writing the script and Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith, Doug Belgrad and Chad Oman producing and Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone executive producing.

Bad Boys For Life was initially released in 2020 and is known as one of the last pre-pandemic era blockbusters, earning $426.5 million USD at the global box office. It also starred Paola Núñez, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Kate del Castillo, Nicky Jam and Joe Pantoliano.
