Founded by Hard Candy creators, Dineh Mohajer and Jeanne Chavez, Smith and Cult launched as a nail polish brand back in 2014. The brand quickly became one of the most beloved in the game, thanks to its chic packaging, long-lasting formulas, and extensive range of colors. In 2016, Smith and Cult made the leap into makeup, including a well-received mascara.
So when the brand deleted everything on its Instagram account last summer and began teasing the launch of the next makeup product, we were intrigued, to say the least. The product in question ended up being Blackdrop, a makeup primer made with bamboo charcoal to mattify skin before makeup application.
Just last week, Smith and Cult gave us a look into the next launches—and there are a lot of them. The brand released an entire collection of foundations, eyeshadows, lip glosses, and so much more.
You can shop the entire Smith and Cult makeup line now on Ulta.com, which encourages consumers to experiment and play with color and texture. “We are excited about the new Smith and Cult brand, which demonstrates not only our commitment to innovation but also our entrepreneurial spirit,” says Tev Finger, CEO of Luxury Brand Partners. “Our teams work best when they are empowered to build fluid brands that respond to new market opportunities. We are confident in our partnership with Ulta and look forward to growing Smith and Cult together.”
