Smartfood’s New Popcorn Flavor Tastes Like a Cinnamon Sugar Cupcake
Smartfood is on a roll with dessert-inspired, limited-edition flavors. Last year, we were delighted with Original Glazed Doughnut (a collaboration with Krispy Kreme) and Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut. The snack brand isn’t done with cinnamon just yet, because its newest flavor is Cinnamon Sugar Cupcake. Cue the curiosity!
Smartfood announced the new variety on Instagram on Jan. 4. “Just when you thought all the parties were over…,” the caption reads. It was designed to incorporate both sweet and salty elements so that you get part salty popcorn, part cinnamon sugar cupcake. Something tells us that our taste buds are in for a real treat.
The 6.25-ounce flavor is a limited-edition offering and can be found at Target and Albertsons for around $4, according to the brand. “Is it a cupcake or is it popcorn? It’s magic that’s what it is,” it reads on the back of the bag.
Since this variety is only available for a short time, you might need another Smartfood bag to snack on after it’s gone. There’s the classic White Cheddar and Move Theater Butter, but if you want to stick to that sweet and salty combination, go for the Caramel & Cheddar Mix and Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn. Sure, they may not be cupcake-worthy, but one day our bags are going to run out.
