Sleeping—among other things, of course—is my life's greatest passion. There's nothing I look forward to more at the end of the day than swan diving directly into my cozy bed, closing my eyes, and entering into a deep, REM-filled sleep. A good night's rest can truly transform me into a more productive, energetic, and all-around happier human being—that is, if I sleep through the night.

That's why I decided to try the Honeywell Dreamweaver Sleep Fan, which utilizes special pink noise to keep you in the calm, restorative stage of sleep throughout the night. After a week's worth of use, I can definitely say that I've experienced a higher quality of sleep and a better outlook on life (see what sleep can do for you??). For those of you asking what exactly pink noise is, I've compiled everything you need to know about the Honeywell Dreamweaver Sleep Fan—besides the fact that you should definitely go out and get it.

So, what exactly is "pink noise"?

Pink noise is a mix of high and low frequencies that are often found in the natural world around us (think of sounds like falling rain or ocean waves).

What's the difference between pink noise and white noise?

"The primary difference between white and pink noise is the intensity of the sound frequency," says Ursula Kominski, Brand Manager of Fans for Helen of Troy. "The intensity of pink noise gently fluctuates with high and low frequencies, mimicking sounds found in nature, while white noise often sounds like static because it maintains the same intensity across frequencies. In comparison to white noise, pink noise sounds more balanced and is more soothing to the human ear."

How does pink noise affect your health?

Pink noise was found to improve the duration of deep REM stages of sleep—the more refreshing, restful stages of sleep that are important for brain health. Adults who listened to pink noise overnight performed better on memory tests the next morning, according to a study published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. (Of course, I did not participate in any official memory tests myself, but I did remember a pretty important deadline I might've otherwise forgotten, so I 100% support this claim).

The fan has an adjustable vent to control airflow.

Even though it is a fan, and thus blows out cool air, the Honeywell Dreamweaver Sleep Fan can easily be used all through the winter—all you need to do is shut the adjustable vent, and voilà! No more cold air blasting toward your face.

It's compact and easily transported.

The fan is small yet mighty—it's incredibly light, as well. If you want to take the fan somewhere with you overnight, it's much easier to transport than your average, everyday fan.

It has three powerful speeds, four light dimming settings, and an auto-off timer.

I'm someone that likes my surroundings to be very dark and very quiet when I go to sleep, so these settings basically changed my life. Even with the fan set to the lightest speed possible, I still experienced the effects of the pink noise. You can also choose to have the fan automatically turn off after one, two, four, or eight hours of use.

There's even a USB port for charging electronic devices.

Because you honestly can't get enough of those—am I right, or am I right?
