A Sky-High Manhattan Triplex Penthouse With a Private Rooftop Terrace Just Listed for $30 Million

Flatiron House, the buzzy biophilic residential building in New York City, just got a plum new listing: its prized triplex apartment.

On the market for a cool $30 million, the aerie occupies the 24th and 25th floors of the swanky Manhattan tower. Altogether, the penthouse measures more than 6,400 square feet and includes seven bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. Other notable features include floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping vistas of the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center, and a sprawling 1,138-square-foot rooftop terrace with an outdoor kitchen.

The key-lock elevator opens directly into the sponsor unit’s upper level, which includes an entrance gallery with a circular staircase and a wet bar (perfect for cocktail parties!), a light-filled combination living and dining area, a more cozily proportioned media room, and ensuite two bedrooms. Nearby, there’s an eat-in chef’s kitchen that’s centered around a large island and includes marble counters and backsplashes, tons of custom oak cabinets, and top-of-the-line appliances from Gaggenau and Thermador.

A unique aspect of the penthouse that plays into the building’s sustainable, nature-forward design is a fully planted, self-irrigated balcony that runs across the entire eastern facade, complete with edible herbs and berries.

Downstairs are the home’s four remaining ensuite bedrooms, including the principal suite, a dramatic retreat that takes up almost half the floor. Here, you’ll find a windowed walk-in closet and a bathroom that sports a custom double-sink vanity, heated marble floors, a Kohler bathtub, and a glass-enclosed shower. The secondary baths are all finished with limestone flooring, Ann Sacks textured ceramic tiles, custom vanities, and showers and tubs by Duravit.

Views of famous Manhattan landmarks include the Clock Tower Building.

“Flatiron House is a great building, one that will establish itself as a go-to property for years to come,” added Candler. Developed by Anbau Enterprises and designed by architecture firm Cookfox, the 22-story tower on West 23rd Street is down the block from Madison Square Park and is split between two buildings that are connected by a central courtyard. Altogether, the property comprises 44 residences, an attended lobby, a fitness center, a game room, and a resident’s lounge.
