Sky High Farm Workwear Plants Roots at Nordstrom

Nordstrom is celebrating Earth Month with a popup at its New York City flagship with Sky High Farm Workwear, a mission-led brand built to sustain and expand the work of Sky High Farm (SHF).

The popup offers special collaborations with Sky High Farm Workwear and artist Quil Lemons, Bogs, Converse and more, along with an exclusive offering of reworked vintage pieces.

Product highlights include gender-inclusive flare jeans and a denim jacket with a painted swirl design, a blue chore jacket and workwear jeans embroidered with sequin flowers and produce-themed knits and wovens. Accessories spans pull-on work boots, a flower-buckle suede belt, socks, totes and hats.

Sky High Farm Workwear was founded by artist Dan Colen and Daphne Seybold, formerly of Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market. The brand was created in partnership with Dover Street Market through their DSM Paris development department that manufactures, sells and distributes the collection.

Half of Sky High Farm Workwear’s profits are donated to SHF each year, with the rest going to employees, investors, and the community surrounding the farm. SHF is a Hudson Valley, N.Y.-based nonprofit working to address food security and food sovereignty. Since 2011, it has donated 100,000 pounds of vegetables and 65,000 pounds of animal protein to New York State food access organizations.

Through its Wholesale Donation Program, Sky High Farm Workwear requires retail partners to make an up-front donation to the farm before selling items. In its first year the brand has donated over $300,000 to Sky High Farm through the Wholesale Donation Program.

Olivia Kim, Nordstrom senior vice president of creative merchandising, said she admires the founders’ “vision and creativity in building a brand that supports a strong purpose.”

“More than ever before, we know that people want to support brands that share their values, own their environmental and social impact and have a meaningful story to tell,” she said.

The NYC popup is open through May 7. The collection is also available at Nordstrom stores in Seattle and Los Angeles as well as nordstrom.com.
