Sky High Farm, the nonprofit focused on food security with a clothing line to boot, is getting its first Nike collaboration with an assist from Kaws.

The Air Force 1 Low collab sees Kaws, whose roots are in street art, linking with Dan Colen, co-founder of Sky High Farm and member of the legendary graffiti graffiti crew Irak. Black and white versions of the AF1 Low feature a “printed, dye-cut Swoosh applique” as a cloud motif that’ll be familiar to Kaws and Sky High Farm enthusiasts alike. Apart from that design flourish, which is oversized and threaded with loose ends, the Air Force 1s appear in their staple all-white and all-black forms.

“I wanted to create something that existed within that family, but sort of make it my own,” Brian Donnelly, the artist who goes by Kaws, told GQ, which broke the news of the collaboration. “I liked the idea of taking these pre-existing things and reworking them. We’re trying to acknowledge that the world is already full of creative design.”

Like all of Sky High Farm’s product, the three-way collaboration will generate proceeds for the nonprofit’s work in underprivileged communities. Typically, Sky High Farm deals in high-end workwear with cartoon-ish and glamorous elements. It has also partnered on Converse for Chuck 70s on a number of occasions.

Kaws has collaborated with Nike on a number of occasions, most recently on another three-party collaboration with Sacai on the Blazer Low in 2021.

The Sky High Farm x Kaws x Nike Air Force 1 will release Dec. 16 through Sky High Farms website and in-person at Dover Street Market New York as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. Pricing has not yet been announced.
