What It's Like Skiing In Canada After A 69 Inch Storm

YouTuber and skier James Pavelick of Rise & Alpine recently enjoyed every snowsports enthusiast's dream: fresh turns on Whistler Blackcomb's alpine terrain after a storm that produced 69 inches of snow.

Hero skiing isn't the half of it.

Pavelick, in the second part of his video, gets pitted on Blackcomb's 7th Heaven Express as he scores some heavenly—sorry, had to—turns.

Since Pavelick's upload yesterday, Whistler Blackcomb's seven-day snowfall total has ticked slightly higher than the one he reported. Now, the resort states that 189 centimeters, or 74 inches, have fallen in the past week.

Whistler Blackcomb skiers know how remarkable this is, given how the season started. In December, Pavelick uploaded a video titled "Whistler Blackcomb Needs a Miracle" that showcased thin snow coverage and soggy base areas.

But, as we now know, Whistler Blackcomb did receive a miracle, thanks to an incredible storm that completely turned the ski season around.

What of later this month, though? Is a "miracle March" possible?

There could be more snow on the way for Whistler Blackcomb. In his latest forecast, meteorologist Chris Tomer predicted that the Canadian ski resort could see two to three feet of snow by March 14th.

Of course, those snowfall totals are subject to change. But as it stands, Whistler Blackcomb is precisely where it wants to be.
